Halo Angels Children's Services

Our Programs

More Than a Home. A Foundation for Life.

Our enrichment programs are designed to build confidence, develop skills, and open doors. Whether a young person discovers a passion for art or earns a vocational certification, every program moves them closer to independence and self-worth.

Community-Based Services – Detroit, Michigan

Our Child Placing Agency is committed to strengthening children, youth, and families throughout the City of Detroit by providing accessible, family-centered community-based services. Our goal is to help families overcome barriers, build stability, strengthen parenting and life skills, and connect with resources that promote long-term well-being and self-sufficiency.

Services may include family support and preservation, youth mentoring, independent and life-skills development, parenting education, case management, resource navigation and referrals, educational support, workforce readiness, and other individualized services based on family needs.

Through partnerships with schools, community organizations, service providers, businesses, and local stakeholders, the agency will create a coordinated network of support for Detroit families. Services will emphasize prevention, early intervention, family engagement, safety, and positive outcomes while helping children and families remain connected to their communities.

Creative Arts

Through painting, drawing, mixed media, and design, youth explore self-expression in a safe and supportive environment. Art builds emotional resilience, creative thinking, and confidence.

Vocational Trades

We connect teens and young adults with hands-on training in skilled trades — preparing them for real careers and financial independence long before they age out of the system.

Certification Prep

From CPR to industry-recognized credentials, we help youth earn certifications that give them a competitive edge in the workforce and a sense of real accomplishment.

Academic Support

Tutoring, homework help, and educational guidance ensure that no young person falls behind because of the instability that brought them to us.

Life Skills & Self-Esteem

Budgeting, communication, conflict resolution, personal development — we prepare youth for adulthood with the tools schools don't always teach.

Mentorship & Community

We connect youth with mentors, community partners, and volunteers who invest in their growth and walk alongside them on their journey.

Licensing & Accreditation

HACS is licensed as a child-placing agency under the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). Our programs are reviewed for compliance with state child welfare regulations and accreditation standards.

All staff and volunteers are screened and trained in child safety. Our programs follow strict supervision, behavior, and incident-response protocols designed to protect every young person in our care.
