These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Halo Angels Children’s Services (“HACS,” “we,” or “us”) website located at www.hacsmi.org (the “Site”). By accessing the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
Acceptable Use. You agree to use the Site for lawful purposes only. You may not use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Site, or interfere with any other party’s use. Unauthorized attempts to access secured portions of the Site are prohibited.
Intellectual Property. All content on this Site — including text, graphics, logos, and images — is the property of HACS or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use.
No Professional Advice. The information provided on this Site is for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal, medical, or child welfare advice. For concerns about a child’s safety, contact the Michigan Centralized Intake hotline at 1-855-444-3911.
Third-Party Links. The Site may contain links to third-party websites. HACS is not responsible for the content or practices of those sites and does not endorse them.
Limitation of Liability. HACS provides the Site “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HACS shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the Site.
Changes to Terms. HACS may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Halo Angels Children’s Services (“HACS”) collects, uses, and protects information you provide through our public website. HACS is committed to safeguarding the privacy of visitors and the children and families we serve.
Information We Collect. When you submit a contact form, volunteer interest, or donation, we may collect your name, email address, and any message content you provide. Donation payments are processed securely through our payment provider; HACS does not store full card numbers on this Site.
How We Use Information. We use the information you provide to respond to inquiries, process donations, coordinate volunteer engagement, and send updates you have requested. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Cookies & Analytics. This Site may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its content. You may control cookies through your browser settings; see our cookie consent banner for preferences.
Child & Family Privacy. HACS operates under MiSACWIS and HIPAA-aligned privacy frameworks for all internal records involving children and families. No identifying information about children in our care is published on this public Site.
Data Security. This Site is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption). We maintain reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information we collect.

Accessibility Statement
Halo Angels Children’s Services is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Efforts to Support Accessibility. We continually review and improve our site’s structure, navigation, color contrast, and assistive-technology compatibility. Images include descriptive alternative text, and our site is designed to be navigable by keyboard.
Third-Party Content. Some content or features provided by third parties may not yet fully conform to accessibility standards. We work with our partners to improve compatibility wherever possible.

State Charity Registration Disclosures
Halo Angels Children’s Services is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. A copy of our IRS determination letter is available upon request.
Some states require specific disclosures for solicitation of charitable contributions. The following notices apply where required:
Registration with the Attorney General. HACS is registered with the Michigan Attorney General’s Charitable Trust Section. Registration does not imply endorsement by the Attorney General. Financial and registration information may be obtained from the Michigan Department of Attorney General, Charitable Trust Section, P.O. Box 30214, Lansing, MI 48909.
Out-of-State Residents. Residents of states requiring additional disclosures may request a copy of our most recent financial statements by contacting haloangels@hacsmi.org.
Use of Donations. Donations support enrichment programs, vocational training, academic support, and mentorship for foster youth in Michigan. HACS’s most recent IRS Form 990 and annual report are available upon request.
